"Near the end of 2006 out family made the decision to sell our existing home and build a new home. We looked at a number of larger builders in the Western NY area finally deciding on one and making the initial commitment to build our new home.

THose plans did not materialize and unfortunately we were at the point where we had already sold out existing home. We were left looking for and alternate builder and needed to find on in a hurry. In hindsight it was our good fortune that those original plans did not materialize because our new search led us to CMK Builders of Alden, but more importantly started our relationship with the company owners, Kevin Stoldt Sr. and Kevin Stoldt jr. or "the Kevin's" as we referred to them

When we started the process of looking into building a new home we had heard all of the usual "horror stories" from others who had undertaken the same task with other builders; so we mentally prepared ourselves as best we could to confront these problems. We were thrilled to find out that our experience with the Kevin's was very different from what others had experienced with other builders.
From the moment we started making the initial plans through the building process and ending with the final walkthrough, the Kevin's were involved every step of the way. They also made themselves available at any time and were always willing to answer any question that we had. It was refreshing to see their level in involvement and the genuine enjoyment they had in sharing the experience with us. At all times they made us feel that our project was the most important one they had even though we knew they had multiple jobs going on at eh same time.

One area of concern or uncertainty we had going into our project was dealing with suppliers the builder had chosen. Once again we had heard the stories regarding the bad experiences some people had in dealing with other suppliers and the limited choices they had to offer. We could not have been more pleased when we started to make our selections with the suppliers that the Kevin's had chosen. Everyone was committed to making the experience as easy and enjoyable as we wanted it to be. You could tell that the Kevin's had selected these suppliers knowing that they would be a direct reflection on the overall home building experience they wanted their customers to have.

We would be remiss if we didn't mention the quality that goes into a CMK built home. The Kevin's use of quality manufacturers and the attention to detail by the people that work for CMK as well as their subcontractors is evident through every aspect of the home.

We can tell you without hesitation that if we ever make the decision to build another home we will only consider one choice, CMK Builders of Alden."

"We recently built a home with CMK builders during the summer of 2007 and are very happy with our “dream home!” We would highly recommend CMK Builders of Alden to anyone looking to build their next home.

We had visited and talked with other builders in the area, but ultimately decided to have Kevin and his team build our home for a number of reasons.

First, we got to customize our home. We were able to customize our house plans that fit our lifestyle and family. We also liked the fact that we were never pressured to build a bigger house that went beyond our budget. Kevin kept us updated as to what cost extra with our home so that we could stay within our means.

Second, we got so much more for the same amount of money. Andersen windows, a Jacuzzi tub, Kraftmaid cabinets and a Napolean fireplace were all included in the standard price of our home whereas these items were considered “extras” with other builders.

In addition, the allowances that were given to us to pick out lighting fixtures, bathroom fixtures, tile and carpeting were very generous. The people that we went to talk to were friendly and knowledgeable. They let us take our time and make sure that our choices were right for us.

Third, because CMK Builders only builds a few houses at a time, it took only 3 months from start to finish. This is very important when you have to sell a home and be out by a certain date. In addition, we personally talked to Kevin on a daily basis about the progress of our home. We weren’t just a number in a long list of houses waiting to be built in a huge subdivision.

All in all, we had a great building experience with CMK Builders. It was one of the best decisions we have ever made!"
